Warm, Lightweight, and Tried-and-True for Canadian Winters
There’s a stillness on the farm when the snow arrives. The alpacas stand quietly, unfazed by the cold, wrapped in the warmth nature gave them. Our Canadian made alpaca mittens come from that same fibre, offering the kind of winter comfort that feels natural, uncomplicated, and genuinely warm.
Why Alpaca Mittens Are Different
Canadian winters ask a lot of our hands... wind, damp cold, early-morning chores, dog walks, and those surprising blasts of weather that show up out of nowhere.
Alpaca mittens offer something rare: warmth without bulk... even if they get wet.
Because alpaca fibres are naturally hollow, they trap warm air efficiently while staying breathable and lightweight. They are also gentle on sensitive skin with none of the prickliness wool can have.
Our Favourite Winter Mitts (Truly)
We carry one style of alpaca mitten.... our Storm Mitts... and that’s intentional.
These mittens are made by the same Canadian mill that produces our Storm Socks, and they are my personal favourite item in the entire shop. I wear them all winter, both on the farm and off, and they've earned their place here by simply working… every single day.
Not fancy. Not overbuilt. Just reliably warm.
