We bought the 9" Alpaca Llama. It is quite cute and very soft. I think our friend will really enjoy having it.
Ordered four pairs of socks, washed on the delicate cycle in cold water and they shrunk to the point that I cannot get my foot into them.

I’m sorry to hear that all four pairs shrank; that is very disappointing. Alpaca is a natural fibre, and even on a delicate cycle, machine agitation can cause tightening or felting. This is why our product labels and online care instructions advise hand wash in cool water and lay flat to dry to avoid shrinkage.
When we spoke last week, I mentioned a method some fibre folks use - soaking in conditioner and gently stretching - though results vary and it isn’t always successful once felting has occurred. If you haven't already tried that, it might be worth a shot.

Very warm and soft to the skin. However, it does fit larger and not true fit. Im a size 8 in Mens dress shoes and got the medium socks. They fit larger so you may want to go down 1 size. I purchased the boot alpaca socks
