A note from the farm
Before I became an alpaca farmer, socks were just… socks. Functional things to prevent blisters and keep my shoes from getting too disgusting. Sure, I’d heard alpaca socks were supposed to be fantastic and cozy, and when I got my first pair, they were. Soft, comfortable... I really liked them.
But I didn’t truly understand what I had until that first PEI winter in 2010.
It was early morning chores in mid-winter, the kind of cold that seeps through everything. I was moving between the barn and the house, in and out of boots, working up a sweat hauling water and feed, then standing still in the cold.
That’s when it hit me: my feet were still comfortable.
Not sweating.
Not freezing.
Just… fine.
For the first time, I understood why people kept raving about alpaca socks.
Years later, surrounded by the alpacas who produce this fibre, I get it. Alpaca socks aren’t just warm - they work.

What Makes Them Different
Alpaca fibre handles moisture exceptionally well and regulates temperature across seasons. These socks stay warm even when damp, which matters in unpredictable weather.
One customer put it simply:
“Any cold weather activity my feet are always cold, even in thick, insulated boots. Took a chance on these and my feet have been warm the last 2 days hunting in 20-degree weather. Finally!”
That word - finally - says everything.
I’ve tried a lot of alpaca socks over the years. I’ve never met one I didn’t like. But these Storm Socks™ - made in Canada with 75% alpaca - are the ones I keep coming back to.
They’re the ones that hold up to real farm work, season after season.
They’re the ones I trust.

Built for Serious Cold (Without the Bulk)
Our Storm Socks are designed for real winters - whether you’re working outside, hunting, hiking, or just trying to get through a Canadian February.
They fit comfortably into boots and shoes without the bulk you’d expect from winter socks.
We carry several styles:
-
Heavy Storms - our standard, everyday workhorse
-
Short Storms - ankle height, same warmth
-
Lite Storms - full height, lighter weight
-
Nor’Easters - our warmest option
All of them handle winter.
All of them work.
Softness That Holds Up
The first thing you’ll notice is how soft they are - real softness, not the delicate kind. These socks are made to be used.
Alpaca contains no lanolin, which makes it naturally hypoallergenic. It also has antibacterial properties that resist odour.
I wear mine for 2–3 weeks between washings (hand wash only). They simply don’t smell the way regular socks do.
A note about sock drawers:
Don’t let your partner try yours unless you’re prepared to lose them. Get them their own pair.
Why It Matters Beyond Comfort
When you choose alpaca, you’re making a choice that extends past your feet.
Alpacas have soft, padded feet that don’t damage soil. When you visit the farm, you’ll see the pasture stays healthy - and that’s not by accident. They graze efficiently, and the fibre requires less processing than many alternatives.
It’s a genuinely sustainable choice.
Not perfect - but better.

They Work Year-Round
Most people discover these socks when their feet get cold... and that’s exactly what they’re designed for. Long winter days. Wet conditions. Real cold.
But here’s the unexpected part: they also work in summer.

Hikers, campers, and farmers wear them year-round because the same properties that keep your feet warm in winter also keep them comfortable in heat.
I’ve worn mine for:
-
Evening walks in July
-
Fall hikes
-
Winter barn chores
-
Spring mud season
They adapt.
Alpaca is also naturally water-resistant, meaning it stays warm even when damp, which is something that matters in Maritime weather. And as a small bonus, alpaca fibre is naturally flame-resistant, adding a bit of extra peace of mind around woodstoves and campfires.
Built for Real Use
Whether you’re hiking, doing farm chores, commuting, standing rinkside, or simply living through Canadian seasons, alpaca socks are made for it.
They’re functional.
They’re durable.
And they’re comfortable enough that you’ll reach for them every time.
